China Spring is 8-2 against Connally since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Cougars will look to defend their home field against the Cadets at 7:00 p.m. China Spring is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.
China Spring took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They blew past Gatesville 12-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Cougars have posted against the Hornets since March 24, 2017.

Chelsea Buro made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one double.
In other batting news, Sophia Garcia was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. Another player making a difference was Nicole Prestidge, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
China Spring kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Connally was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat. They came up short against Lorena, falling 16-0.
Connally's loss dropped their record down to 1-17. As for China Spring, their victory bumped their record up to 15-9.
Connally's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: China Spring hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .339. It's a different story for Connally, though, as they've only averaged .223. Will they be able to contain China Spring's hitters?
China Spring took their win against Connally in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 19-5 score. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cadets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
