Silver Stage extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-7. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 11-9 heartbreaker at the hands of the Incline Highlanders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Nighthawks of the 9-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2025.
Cody Shackley was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. Shackley was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four RBI.
In other batting news, Landen Wolf made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one double. Marvin Ramirez also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
As for Incline, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-10. That's two games straight that they have won by exactly two runs.
Like Silver Stage, Incline also got a great game from a two-way player: Zephyr Denton. He struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and five unearned) runs off nine hits. Denton was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Leo Dukes was incredible, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Damyan Avila, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
While Silver Stage had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
