Several Spartans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was River Ortiz, who scored 22 points along with six assists and four steals. Another player making a difference was Zaiden Montelongo, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Mead's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Matthew Angelo, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kellen Tecu, who scored 12 points along with six assists and five steals.
Greeley West has been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-16 record this season. As for Mead, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.
Greeley West will head out on the road to face off against the Wizards at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in Windsor's favor as the team sits on seven straight wins at home while the Spartans have been banged up by ten consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season. Mead will take on the Raptors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Silver Creek is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.
