Softball Recap: Kennett Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Victory

Kennett had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.2 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Monday. They blew past the Holcomb Hornets 16-1. That's more bragging rights for the Indians, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Kennett got a massive performance out of Handley McAtee, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI McAtee has posted since back in April of 2024. Kynsly McCaig was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Kennett always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .593. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Holcomb only posted an OBP of .308.

Kennett's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Holcomb, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kennett will face off against Malden at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Holcomb, they will host Gideon at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
