It was a good run, but the Berean Academy Eagles unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Tri-City Christian Academy on the road and fell 52-17. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Berean Academy has scored all season.
Tri-City Christian Academy found their leader in underclassman Peyton Jacobsen, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Jacobsen has scored at least a third of Tri-City Christian Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lidia Perez-Cardenas, who scored 15 points.
Berean Academy's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-3. As for Tri-City Christian Academy, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-2.
Berean Academy will take on Arizona Cultural Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams have allowed few points on average, (Arizona Cultural Academy: 28.5, Berean Academy: 28.3) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Tri-City Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Skyline - Gila River at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Tri-City Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Tuesday.
