The Swansea Tigers lost against the Orangeburg-Wilkinson Bruins back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Swansea fell 43-31 to Orangeburg-Wilkinson. Swansea has struggled against Orangeburg-Wilkinson recently, as their contest on Monday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Orangeburg-Wilkinson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Joliyah Robinson led the charge by scoring 14 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Victoria McNeal, who scored six points along with six steals.
Swansea has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Orangeburg-Wilkinson, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Swansea on the road again on Tuesday and play against Lower Richland at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. Hopefully Lower Richland focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 last Saturday. As for Orangeburg-Wilkinson, they will head out on the road to take on Dreher at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
