The Windsor Wizards scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Greeley West 102-43 on the road. Windsor has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 21 points or more this season.
Windsor's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but John Backhaus led the charge by scoring 24 points along with two steals. Backhaus continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Johnnie Reed, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Several Spartans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dominic Florez, who scored eight points. River Ortiz was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with two steals.
The win makes it two in a row for Windsor and bumps their season record up to 7-4. As for Greeley West, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-10.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Greeley Central the next time they take the court. Windsor will head out to face Greeley Central at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Greeley West will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
