4A Piedmont Triad recap Oct. 9, 2012
Garrison Duncan and Jalen Johnson provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Grimsley. The connection went for 79 yards, the longest such play in 4A Piedmont Triad this season.
East Forsyth extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Whirlies, 42-7. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Eagles.
Justin Johnson threw for 202 yards and four touchdowns. He went 19-33 with one interceptions.
TJ Parker was the best wideout in the league this week as Ragsdale lost to Northwest Guilford. Parker tallied five receptions for 159 yards. Erik Romer helped Ragsdale's passing attack out by catching three balls for 54 yards.
Marquez Eleazer was the most productive running back in 4A Piedmont Triad this week. In 17 carries, he ran for 91 yards as the Tigers lost to the Vikings. Taylor Booker also contributed to the rushing game with four yards on the ground.
Duncan provided a threat through the air and on the ground as East Forsyth beat Grimsley. He completed 11 passes for 219 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for 72 yards. Duncan's favorite target this week was Johnson, who caught two passes for 81 yards.
High Point Central's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bison feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Johnson has thrown for 1531 yards and 11 touchdowns this season, while Jawan Foggie has 46 catches for 591 yards. Johnson also leads the league in rushing with 764 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Todd Willert's team takes on Southwest Guilford. As it stands, the Eagles are in first, while the Cowboys are in sixth.
Glenn moved up to 176 from 203 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Bobcats were able to make the jump by beating Southwest Guilford 28-20.
