The Fletcher Senators and the Oakleaf Knights squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but sadly the Fletcher Senators had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 58-56. While losing is never fun, Fletcher can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 326th, while Oakleaf is ranked 120th).
Despite the loss, Fletcher still got an impressive performance from Ryder Kay, who scored 21 points. Another player making a difference was Sam Perry, who scored four points along with six assists and four steals.
Fletcher has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-15 record this season. As for Oakleaf, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-5.
Fletcher does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Oakleaf, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 53-45 win vs. Nease on the 8th.
