Two dominant backs in Dante Casdia and Jayden Allen are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. After each having a week off, the Glastonbury Guardians and the New Britain Golden Hurricanes will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Glastonbury's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Friday. They strolled past Manchester with points to spare, taking the game 16-0. The contest marked the Guardians' most dominant win of the season so far.

Connor Finnerty
| 10/10/25 @ Manchester | 37 |
| 09/26/25 @ Danbury | 34 |
| 10/04/25 @ Platt | 26 |
| 09/18/25 vs Southington | 25 |
| 11/22/24 @ Simsbury | 23 |
Glastonbury can attribute much of their success to Connor Finnerty, who rushed for 37 yards and two TDs, and also threw for 133 yards on 11 of 16 attempts. Those 37 rushing yards gave Finnerty a new career-high.
Meanwhile, New Britain hadn't done well against Southington recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way last Friday. The Golden Hurricanes took their game with ease, bagging a 42-14 victory over the Blue Knights. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Golden Hurricanes just coasted through the last quarter.
Glastonbury better keep an eye on Billy Seymour. He was instrumental in New Britain's win, rushing for 59 yards and one score, while also throwing for 163 yards and one touchdown. 97 of those passing yards were hauled in by Todd Samuel.
New Britain was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 372 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
New Britain didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Samuel and Allen. Allen is also crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 117 every time he's taken the field this season.
New Britain's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.3 points over those games. As for Glastonbury, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Everything came up roses for Glastonbury against New Britain when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 49-21 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Allen, who rushed for 140 yards and a pair of TDs. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Guardians still be able to contain Allen? There's only one way to find out.
