The Kaukauna Galloping Ghosts's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Hortonville at home and fell 75-46. Kaukauna lost against Hortonville in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 58-46 score last time.
Kaukauna lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Addison Baumgart, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Keira Plate, who scored ten points.
Kaukauna struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Kaukauna's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Hortonville, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kaukauna will be home for the holidays to greet Oshkosh West at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hortonville won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Homestead at 2:30 p.m. on December 16th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Wisconsin (Homestead is ranked 78th, while Hortonville is ranked 64th).
