The Watertown Purple Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the McMinn Central Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. McMinn Central took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Watertown, who comes in off a win.
Watertown never got on the board in their matchup two weeks ago, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Community last Thursday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 63-0 victory over the Vikings/Viqueens.
Watertown's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Blake Waldorf, who threw for 161 yards and three touchdowns on only ten passes. Adam Cooper was in the mix too, providing Watertown with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, McMinn Central pushed their score all the way to 55 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 62-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Chattanooga Central. Despite running the score up even higher than they did two weeks ago (51), McMinn Central still had to take the loss.
Watertown's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-6. As for McMinn Central, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-3.
