The Somerset Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 32-18 to Cole. While losing is never fun, Somerset can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1273rd, while Cole is ranked 339th).
Leading Cole to victory were Kamyra Childs and Kendall Gonzales. Childs scored 6 points along with 6 assists and 5 steals, while Gonzales scored 10 points along with 3 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Gonzales has scored at least 25% of Cole's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Abigail Levings, who scored 6 points.
Somerset has fallen quite a ways from their 27-11 record last season and are now at 1-10. As for Cole, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-3.
Somerset will take on Roma at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. Roma is coming into the game hot, having won their last eight games. Cole is on the road again on Thursday and play against Cigarroa at 11:30 a.m. on November 30th.
