The Evangelical Christian Sentinels will take on the Naples Golden Eagles in a tournament on Saturday. Evangelical Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.

Hayden Billie spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Evangelical Christian let Payton Billie and Keaunna Green run wild. Billie went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double, while Green scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Anayeli Guzman was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
Meanwhile, Naples had to endure a 12-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Cypress Lake by a score of 7-3 on Saturday.
Joslyn Baker made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mackenzie Leiti, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Katelyn Short also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Evangelical Christian's record is now 18-3. As for Naples, their record now sits at 4-13.
Naples' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Evangelical Christian has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.3 hits per game. It's a different story for Naples, though, as they've been averaging 9.4 hits. Given Evangelical Christian's sizable advantage in that area, the Golden Eagles will need to find a way to close that gap.
Evangelical Christian skirted past Naples 6-5 in their previous matchup back in March of 2021. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Sentinels since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
