Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Beecher walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Chicago Christian Knights on Wednesday as they made off with a 13-0 win. Considering the Bobcats have won 20 matches by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Tayiah Scanlan was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Elena Kvasnicka, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Beecher always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chicago Christian only posted an OBP of .211.
The victory (which was Beecher's third in a row) raised their record to 31-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Chicago Christian, they dropped their record down to 3-21 with the defeat, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Beecher wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Wilmington on the 23rd. Chicago Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
