After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Foothills Christian, Maranatha Christian was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the La Jolla Country Day Torreys a 13-0 shutout. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by ten runs or more this season.

Hannah Visser made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

In other batting news, Kennedy Arango was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Asiah Boehm was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Maranatha Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Maranatha Christian has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for La Jolla Country Day, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.

Maranatha Christian will head out on the road to take on Classical Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for La Jolla Country Day, they will be playing in front of their home fans against El Cajon Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
