The Greencastle Tiger Cubs waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 55-45 victory over Edgewood. This was payback for Greencastle, who suffered a 41-39 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Greencastle found their leader in underclassman Sam Gooch, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Gooch hasn't dropped below 15points for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Connor Sullivan, who scored ten points.
Greencastle has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. As for Edgewood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-9.
Greencastle will be playing at home against South Vermillion at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Edgewood, they will head out on the road to challenge Bedford North Lawrence at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
