At the plate,  Anderson  scored a  run and  stole a base while  getting on base  in all five of his plate appearances, while  Manning  scored a  run while  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances.
 In other pitching news,  Andres Cedeno looked comfortable as he  pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off   three  hits.
 Back at the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Tanner Neil, who  scored three  runs while going 1-for-4.
 Meanwhile, Herriman came up short against Orem on Wednesday and fell  8-4.
 Herriman saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Kayson Thomas, who  went 2-for-4 with a  double and  an  RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of  Cache Carter, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Layton's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Herriman, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.
