Softball Recap: Wyoming Has No Trouble Against Union

Wyoming got themselves on the board against Union on Tuesday, but Union never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Red Hawks with a sharp 18-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Red Hawks: they've now won five in a row.

Blen Brookhouse was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Brookhouse was also solid in the batter's box, earning three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season.

In other batting news, Kellsie Dieterle was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was LaNieva Rayborn, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

Wyoming hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 2-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Wyoming's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Union, they dropped their record down to 0-3 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Wyoming will host Otsego at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Union, they are headed away from home for the first time to take on South Christian at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
