The Central Wildcats were the 55-46 winner over the Wilson Warriors when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Central took a 42-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wilson on Friday. Central has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Callie Beth Wright and Maggie Huffaker certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Wright scored eight points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Huffaker scored six points.
Central has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Wilson, their win bumped their record up to 9-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central will challenge Deshler at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Deshler knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven contests -- so hopefully Central likes a good challenge. Wilson's road trip will continue as they head out to face Brooks at 6:30 p.m. on January 9th. Brooks is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
