It was a good run, but the Shadow Creek Sharks unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell to Dawson 42-36. Shadow Creek was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Dawson apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Despite the defeat, Shadow Creek saw an underclassman step up: Da'niyah Lewis scored 13 points along with six assists. Sydney Parks was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Even though they lost, Shadow Creek were working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dawson only racked up four assists.
Leading Dawson to victory were Kennedy Smith and Jaycee Ingram. Smith scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals, while Ingram scored nine points along with 12 rebounds and three steals. Ingram hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games.
Shadow Creek's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-11. As for Dawson, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which lines up perfectly with their 21-7 record this season.
Shadow Creek will head out on the road to square off against Alief Taylor at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Dawson, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Alief Elsik at 4:30 p.m. Alief Elsik has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
