This season hasn't been kind to the St. Edward Beavers, who are still winless after their 14th game. They were beaten by Chambers/Wheeler Central 54-13 on Thursday. St. Edward was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-5.
Despite the loss, St. Edward still got an impressive performance from Trinity Sindelar, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, St. Edward struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Chambers/Wheeler Central pulled down 32 offensive rebounds.
Chambers/Wheeler Central got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Annabel Waldo out in front who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Waldo has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Brianna Klabenes, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
St. Edward's loss was their 15th straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Chambers/Wheeler Central, their win bumped their record up to 7-10.
St. Edward won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Heartland Lutheran at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. As for Chambers/Wheeler Central, they will take on Stuart at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Stuart is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
