Bullitt Central and Southern are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2016, but not for long. The pair will face off at 7:15 p.m. on February 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Bullitt Central is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
Bullitt Central pushed their score all the way to 68 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They suffered a tough 91-68 defeat at the hands of Beth Haven. While losing is never fun, Bullitt Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 204th, while Beth Haven is ranked 93rd).
Meanwhile, Southern slipped by Waggener 52-51 on Tuesday. The win was just what Southern needed coming off of a 88-64 defeat in their prior contest.
Bullitt Central has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season. As for Southern, their win bumped their record up to 6-18.
Bullitt Central came up short against Southern in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, falling 68-55. Can Bullitt Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
