Haskell's Alex Wheeland recorded the longest rushing play in 2A District 5 this season in his game against Okemah last week. Wheeland ran for 95 yards on the play and finished with 105 on the day as his team fell to the Panthers.
Okemah extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Haskell, 41-20. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Jake Standlee put up the best numbers through the air as Meeker beat Wellston. He finished with a total of one completions for 18 yards and one touchdown. Standlee's favorite target this week was Nick Cagle, who caught one pass for 18 yards.
Jacob Crowe was the best wideout in the league this week as the Haymakers fell to the Panthers. Crowe tallied one reception for 30 yards. Colby Graves helped Haskell's passing attack out by catching two balls for 14 yards.
The Bulldogs' Standlee and Cagle have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 2A District 5 in both passing and receiving yards. Standlee has thrown for 664 yards this season, while Cagle, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 14 catches for 369 yards. Haskell's Wheeland leads the league in rushing yards with 919.
The Haymakers' Wheeland is a mere 81 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when Haskell takes on the Tigers. The Haymakers' offense has recorded 235 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while Stroud has permitted only 49 on the year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Haskell takes on Chris Elerick's team. At the moment, the Haymakers are in third, while the Tigers are in first.
Mounds made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 12,401 from 13,320. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 28-21 victory over Barnsdall last week.
