The Trinity Titans lost against the South Central Satellites back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Trinity took a 56-41 bruising from South Central. Trinity has not had much luck with South Central recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the loss, Trinity still got an impressive performance from Jacob Palmer, who scored 11 points along with 8 steals. Nathan Palmer was another key contributor, scoring 6 points.
Leading South Central to victory were Derek Welsh and Jay Huerta. Welsh scored 14 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals, while Huerta scored 18 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists. That makes it two consecutive games in which Huerta has scored at least 25% of South Central's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Clayten Strauch, who scored 9 points.
Trinity's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for South Central, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Trinity will head out on the road to face off against South Bend Career Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Central, they will be playing at home against Kouts at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
