The Ridgway Demons won the last time they faced the Telluride Miners, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Everything went Ridgway's way against Telluride as Ridgway made off with a 41-16 victory. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Ridgway has managed all season.
Ridgway's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Maddie Miller led the charge by dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Miller pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ali Sauer, who scored six points along with five rebounds and three steals.
The victory got Ridgway back to even at 3-3. As for Telluride, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ridgway's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Dolores at 12:30 p.m. on January 13th. Dolores is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Telluride, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mancos at 4:00 p.m. on January 19th.
