Baseball Game Preview: Dutch Fork Silver Foxes vs. Dreher Blue Devils

The Dutch Fork Silver Foxes will face off against the Dreher Blue Devils at 1:30 p.m. on Monday. Dutch Fork knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Dreher likes a good challenge.

Dutch Fork not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since March 13th (when they won 13-3). Everything went their way against Sumter as they made off with a 10-1 win.

Dutch Fork got a great performance from Banks Head as he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Head has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Raleigh Salters was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Dutch Fork's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-2 (and 4-6 when he doesn't). Blake Splittgerber was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Dutch Fork kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, Dreher was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 12-4 to Gray Collegiate Academy.

Dreher's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Dutch Fork, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Everything went Dutch Fork's way against Dreher when the teams last played back in April of 2025, as Dutch Fork made off with a 14-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Silver Foxes since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
