After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Slinger, Grafton was happy to have turned things around on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Whitefish Bay Blue Dukes a 2-0 shutout. This was a revenge game for the Black Hawks: when they faced off against the Blue Dukes back in April, they had to take a 13-9 loss.

The team relied heavily on Zachary Plier, who went 2-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

Grafton's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Whitefish Bay, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-3 record this season.

Grafton will head out to challenge Campbellsport at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Cougars' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Black Hawks' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Whitefish Bay, they will challenge Marquette University at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
