The West Valley Mustangs are taking a road trip to square off against the Temescal Canyon Titans at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
West Valley took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by an 11-5 margin over Banning. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Broncos recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
West Valley let Desiray Rodriguez and Olivia Valenzuela run wild. Rodriguez got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four stolen bases and one run, while Valenzuela went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases Rodriguez has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Deonys Ioane, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one double.
West Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .545 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Titans on Thursday. Temescal Canyon blew past Tahquitz 13-3. That's two games straight that Temescal Canyon has won by exactly ten runs.
STEPHANIE BARAJAS looked comfortable as she pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, REAGAN PICKENS was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was her first of the season. LIANNA HALL was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
West Valley's record now sits at 7-5. As for Temescal Canyon, their record is now 11-5.
West Valley might still be hurting after the 11-0 loss they got from Temescal Canyon in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
