Two dominant in JoLesa Birkhead and Gabby Bush are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Winthrop College Prep Academy Spartans on the road again on Monday and play against the Tampa Prep Terrapins at 6:00 p.m. on January 22nd. Winthrop College Prep Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 372nd, while Tampa Prep is ranked 120th).
Last Saturday, Winthrop College Prep Academy earned a 52-45 victory over Boca Raton Christian.
Winthrop College Prep Academy relied on the efforts of Zamyria King, who scored 20 points, and Birkhead, who scored 30 points. King continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.
Meanwhile, Tampa Prep scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 62-44 victory over Carrollwood Day. The win was just what Tampa Prep needed coming off of a 56-25 loss in their prior contest.
The victory got Winthrop College Prep Academy back to even at 10-10. As for Tampa Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 10-7.
