The Burlington School Spartans are ranked highly in their home state, and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of the Miller School of Albemarle Mavericks. The Burlington School came out on top against Miller School of Albemarle by a score of 65-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
The Burlington School got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Zion Walker out in front who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds. Walker is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. King Gibson was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Miller School of Albemarle's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jason Clarke, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Reece Hagy, who scored 13 points.
The victory makes it two in a row for The Burlington School and bumps their season record up to 19-10. As for Miller School of Albemarle, their loss dropped their record down to 14-5.
The Burlington School will be playing in front of their home fans against Ravenscroft at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ravenscroft is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games. As for Miller School of Albemarle, Miller School of Albemarle and North Cross will face off at 6:30 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
