Richland Northeast posted their biggest victory yet this season on Monday. They really took it to Hannah-Pamplico for the full four quarters, racking up a 57-30 win on the road. Given Richland Northeast's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while Hannah-Pamplico is ranked 244th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Richland Northeast's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Chris Asuzu led the charge by scoring ten points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Asuzu has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Od Grier, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Ridge View unfortunately witnessed the end of their 16-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of Westwood by a score of 66-64. The game was a 31-31 toss-up at halftime, but Ridge View was outscored by Westwood in the second.
Richland Northeast's victory bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Ridge View, their defeat ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 16-1.
Richland Northeast didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Ridge View when the teams last played back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 54-49 victory.
