If The Centennial Chargers were feeling good off their 55-26 takedown of the Decatur Eisenhower Panthers last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Centennial took a 40-24 bruising from Normal West on Friday. Centennial has struggled against Normal West recently, as their matchup on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Centennial's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kodiac Pruitt, who rushed for 104 yards on only 14 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Kellen Davis, who threw for 107 yards and two touchdowns.
Centennial's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Normal West, their win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Centennial will take on Crete-Monee at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Normal West, they will be playing at home against Simeon at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Simeon is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
