The Loomis Wolves lost against the Dundy County-Stratton Tigers back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Loomis received a tough blow as they fell 44-26 to Dundy County-Stratton. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Loomis has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Loomis had strong showings from Brooklyn Wiese, who scored four points along with ten rebounds, and Sophia Schemper, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Dundy County-Stratton was led to victory by Kimberly Escobar and Alyssa Schneider. Escobar scored ten points along with four steals, while Schneider scored 12 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Schneider is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Clara Spargo, who scored eight points along with two blocks.
This is the second loss in a row for Loomis and nudges their season record down to 6-10. As for Dundy County-Stratton, they pushed their record up to 6-8 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Loomis and Alma will face off at 5:45 p.m. on January 18th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Alma is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last 11 games. As for Dundy County-Stratton, they will head out on the road to take on Wallace on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Wallace is ranked 199th, while Dundy County-Stratton is ranked 186th).
