Sadly, the Winters Mill Falcons are still looking for their first win of the season after 14 matches. Their rough 53-27 defeat to Mount de Sales Academy on Tuesday might stick with them for a while. Winters Mill was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-7.
Mount de Sales Academy was led to victory by Shelby Lewis and Mackenzie Conley. Lewis scored 15 points along with six assists and five rebounds, while Conley scored 16 points along with five assists and two steals. Another player making a difference was Katie Carroll, who scored eight points.
Winters Mill's loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Mount de Sales Academy, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-4.
Winters Mill will face off against Westminster at TBD on Friday. Westminster presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Winters Mill in Maryland (Westminster is ranked 67th, while Winters Mill is ranked 230th). As for Mount de Sales Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge John Carroll at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
