Winter Park is a perfect 10-0 against University since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Wildcats will square off against the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. University took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Winter Park, who comes in off a win.
It was a proper cat-fight when Winter Park faced off against Lake Nona on Thursday. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 8-1 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Wildcats have posted against the Lions since April 16, 2019.

Rylie Scanlon was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that she hit this season.
In other batting news, Reese Fleming was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. Bridget Story was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Winter Park kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.6 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 11.2.
Meanwhile, University was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against Cypress Creek, falling 23-5. That's two games in a row now that the Cougars have lost by exactly 18 runs.
Winter Park is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for University, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.
Winter Park took their victory against University in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 16-0 score. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
