Basketball Recap: Ripley Comes Up Short

Ripley lost against New Albany back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. 2025 welcomed the Ripley Tigers with an 82-60 loss courtesy of the New Albany Bulldogs. The Tigers' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Amari Hubbard was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 22 points and nine boards for New Albany. Kylan King was another key player, going 6 for 8 on his way to 15 points and five rebounds.

Ripley's loss dropped their record down to 12-5. As for New Albany, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ripley will head out to challenge Itawamba Agricultural at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for New Albany, they will venture away from home to take on Senatobia at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
