It was a good run, but the Terrell County Greenwave unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 55-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Early County. Terrell County was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Early County apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Terrell County lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ciara Harvey, who scored eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kalysia Lane, who scored 11 points.
Jacorra Russell was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 32 points and 15 rebounds for Early County. Russell hasn't dropped below two steals for 16 straight games. Nakevia Brown was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Terrell County's defeat dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Early County, their win bumped their record up to 13-5.
Terrell County and Stewart County will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Early County won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Calhoun County at 6:00 p.m. on January 20th. Calhoun County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 468th, while Early County is ranked 188th).
