Basketball Recap: Eva Houston and Brookesly Wilson Secure Win for Reno

Reno won the last time they faced McQueen and things went their way on Monday too. The Reno Huskies were the clear victor by a 53-28 margin over the McQueen Lancers. The Huskies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 24 points or more this season.

Leading Reno to victory were Brookesly Wilson and Eva Houston. Wilson almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds, while Houston went 8 of 14 on her way to 19 points and eight boards. The dominant performance gave Houston a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Violet Gordon, who posted six points in addition to eight boards and five steals.

Reno smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

McQueen's loss came despite strong showings from Brooklyn Pimpl and Anna Craig. Pimpl earned eight points and five rebounds, while Craig had six points.

Reno is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.6 points per game. As for McQueen, they dropped their record down to 3-14 with the loss, which was their seventh straight at home.

Reno didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-36 win against Galena on the 15th. As for McQueen, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 70-54 defeat against Douglas on the 15th.
