The Escondido Charter White Tigers can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They secured a 20-14 W over Classical Academy. The win was just what Escondido Charter needed coming off of a 21-0 loss in their prior matchup.
Escondido Charter's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nick Patterson, who rushed for 125 yards.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Classical Academy to a paltry 175 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Escondido Charter's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out four times before it was all said and done. In that department, Joe Scates was the leader with two sacks.
Despite the loss, Classical Academy had strong showings from Jackson Ballou, who picked up 20 receiving yards and a touchdown, and Justus Smith, who picked up 80 receiving yards and a touchdown. Smith's longest reception was for an incredible 80 yards.
Escondido Charter's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Classical Academy, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-8.
Escondido Charter will square off against Olympian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Olympian is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. Classical Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
