Meanwhile, Elida  took care of business in their home opener  (and then some) on Tuesday. They never let Capitan get on the board and left with  a   12-0  win.
 Radlee Ferguson was a major factor no matter where he played. He  pitched three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits. The dominant performance also gave  him a new career-high in  strikeouts (four). He was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run and  stealing two bases while going 1-for-4. He is  on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as he's  now  snagged two or more in each of the last three games he's  played dating back to last season.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  James Dobbins, who  scored three  runs and  stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Those  three  runs gave  him a new career-high.
 Floyd suffered a grim  12-0 defeat to Elida  in their previous meeting  back in April of 2024. Can Floyd avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
