The Winchendon Wapiti's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by Broome Street Academy on the road and fell 112-81. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Broome Street Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Andre Wright out in front who scored 24 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Wright hasn't dropped below 15points for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Samuel Acevedo, who scored 23 points along with five steals.
Winchendon's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Broome Street Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 16 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.
Winchendon will be playing at home against Hoosac at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Broome Street Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Varsity Opponent at 5:15 p.m. on January 18th.
