After flying high against Socorro last Thursday, Pebble Hills came back down to earth. The Pebble Hills Spartans fell 28-20 to the Eastlake Falcons on Friday. Luke Lomeli was his usual excellent self, rushing for 59 yards and a touchdown, while also throwing for 113 yards and a touchdown for Eastlake. That's the most rushing yards Lomeli has posted since back in September. Eastlake also got a significant boost from Steven Galindo, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 94 yards.
With the loss, Pebble Hills broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-4. As for Eastlake, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-3.
Pebble Hills will face off against Franklin at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Franklin is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 27.6 points per game this season. As for Eastlake, it'll be Battle of the Birds when Falcons dukes it out withCoronado at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
