Basketball Game Preview: Moapa Valley Pirates vs. Chaparral Cowboys

Moapa Valley is 1-9 against Chaparral since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Moapa Valley Pirates will host the Chaparral Cowboys at 6:30 p.m. Moapa Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Chaparral likes a good challenge.

Moapa Valley will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Enterprise, who they had gone 0-4 against in their four prior meetings. Moapa Valley managed a 55-50 victory over Enterprise two weeks ago.

Moapa Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Bryson Walker out in front who went 7 of 11 on his way to 18 points and eight rebounds. The matchup was Walker's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxson Bunker, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 18 points.

Meanwhile, Chaparral can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. Everything went their way against Del Sol as Chaparral made off with an 86-64 victory. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Cowboys just coasted through the last quarter.

Moapa Valley is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-10 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points per game. As for Chaparral, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
