Baseball Recap: Lyle/Pacelli Sets Scoring Season-High Against Schaeffer Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lyle/Pacelli). Everything went their way against the Schaeffer Academy Lions on Thursday as they made off with a 24-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Athletics, who have now won seven games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Lyle/Pacelli pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Schaeffer Academy, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Looking ahead, Lyle/Pacelli will face off against Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Schaeffer Academy, they will challenge Grand Meadow/Kingsland/LeRoy-Ostrander at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Superlarks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed nine runs per game on average), something the Lions will no doubt try to take advantage of.
