Denbigh is 1-9 against Menchville since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Patriots will head out to challenge the Monarchs at 4:30 p.m. Denbigh has given up an average of 11.4 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Denbigh is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 12 runs on Friday, they were much more limited against Bethel on Monday. They lost 11-1 to the Bruins. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Menchville). They were the clear victors by a 19-2 margin over Phoebus on Monday. The win was familiar territory for the Monarchs, who have now won four matchups in a row.
Taylor Twitchell (2027) was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rashani Sackey (2026), who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Jenna Marine (2026), who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Menchville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .704. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Phoebus only posted an OBP of .176.
Menchville pushed their record up to 11-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Denbigh, they now have a losing record of 10-11.
Denbigh might still be hurting after the 19-0 defeat they got from Menchville in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Patriots avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
