They secured a 57-51 W over Waccamaw. Given Dillon's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while the Warriors are ranked 202nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Dillon found their leader in underclassman Zamaurious Robertson, who scored 15 points along with four steals. Robertson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Rahmond Hamilton, who scored 11 points.
Waccamaw lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Dutch Kerns, who scored 15 points. It was the first time this season that Kerns scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Connor Hart, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Dillon is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. As for Waccamaw, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost 14 of their last 18 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season.
Dillon will head out on the road to face off against the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Georgetown's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matchups. As for Waccamaw, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Monarchs at 7:30 p.m. Manning has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
