The Thales Academy Apex Titans can finally bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They snuck past St. Thomas More Academy with a 69-65 win. The victory was just what Thales Academy Apex needed coming off of a 89-67 defeat in their prior matchup.
Nathan Purvis continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 37 points along with nine rebounds. That makes it 13 consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Thales Academy Apex's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Brown, who scored six points along with four blocks.
Thales Academy Apex's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-11. As for St. Thomas More Academy, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-6.
Thales Academy Apex won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Bunn at 10:00 a.m. on December 16th. Bunn is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. St. Thomas More Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cristo Rey Research Triangle at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Cristo Rey Research Triangle is ranked 320th, while St. Thomas More Academy is ranked 308th).
