The Hartford Central Tanagers gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They breezed by Johnsburg Central at home to the tune of 54-12. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-4.
Despite the loss, Johnsburg Central still got an impressive performance from Nate Vanderwarker, who scored 2 points along with 3 steals.
Hartford Central's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Johnsburg Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Hartford Central will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Schroon Lake at 5:00 p.m. Johnsburg Central's road trip will continue as they head out to face Wells at 6:30 p.m. on December 7th. Hopefully Wells focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Tuesday.
