Two dominant players in Ava Hulett and Amelia Morris are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Mineral Ridge Rams will stay at home for another game and welcome the Mogadore Wildcats at 6:15 p.m. on January 22nd. Hopefully Mineral Ridge is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Mogadore in Ohio (Mineral Ridge is ranked 209th, while Mogadore is ranked 478th).
In what's become a running theme this season, Mineral Ridge gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They blew past McDonald 71-22 at home. With Mineral Ridge ahead 35-13 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Mineral Ridge relied on the efforts of Hulett, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and three steals, and Sullivan Sandy, who scored 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sandy has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gianna Gilbert, who scored nine points along with five assists and two steals.
Meanwhile, Mogadore's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 52-39 to Ellet. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Mogadore in their matchups with Ellet: they've now lost three in a row.
Mineral Ridge pushed their record up to 14-1 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Mogadore, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.
